This oil painting depicts a Roman bridge in the Peneda-Geres National Park on a sunny day with one of the two granite massifs in the distance. Evidence of Roman activity connected with a road which was built across this area of North Portugal can be seen in the ancient structures to be found in this area. Small bridges, part of the original road and numerous mile markers can still be seen today.
