Sparkling Lilies (after Monet)

£120.00

This oil painting depicts the cooler tones of a lily pond in the late afternoon. My inspiration came from the work of the Impressionist painter, Claude Monet, who was fascinated by the effects of light on his subject matter at different times of the day. He strove to capture the interaction of light and shadow and painted the same subject time and again. The same pond is depicted in “Reflections in a Lily Pond”.

This oil painting explores the cooler hues present in a lily pond during the late afternoon.

My inspiration for this piece stems from the work of the Impressionist master, Claude Monet, whose deep fascination with the shifting effects of light at various times of day  influenced my approach.

Like Monet, I am drawn to capturing the interplay of light and shadow, and much like his practice of repeatedly painting the same subject to explore these changes, this work shares a connection with my other painting, “Reflections in a Lily Pond,” depicting the same location.

The painting is presented in a clean white frame.
